AI Associate is the most approachable way into AI on Salesforce. It does not ask you to build models or write code. It checks that you understand what AI can and cannot do, how Salesforce uses it, and how to use it responsibly with customer data. That makes it a good first certification for admins, analysts, consultants and anyone in sales or service.
What to learn
AI fundamentals
The difference between predictive AI, which scores or classifies (how likely is this lead to convert?), and generative AI, which creates text or other content. Know the basic ideas of machine learning: training data, models, and why a model is only as good as the data behind it.
Generative AI
Large language models, prompts, and grounding: giving a model trusted business data so its answer is about your customer rather than a guess. Understand why generative AI can produce confident but wrong answers, and how grounding and human review reduce that risk.
AI in Salesforce
Where AI shows up across Salesforce, including Einstein features and Agentforce, and the Einstein Trust Layer, which protects data when it is used with generative AI.
Ethics and trust
Salesforce publishes guidelines for trusted AI. Learn the themes: accuracy, safety, honesty, empowerment and sustainability, and how bias enters a system through data and design.
Data for AI
Data quality decides AI quality. Know the dimensions people use to judge it, such as completeness, accuracy, consistency and timeliness, and how poor or biased data leads to poor or unfair results.
How to study it
- Learn the vocabulary first. Many questions turn on the difference between two similar terms.
- Think in scenarios. For each concept, picture a sales or service team using it, and what could go wrong.
- Try it. A free Trailhead Playground lets you see AI features in a real org rather than only reading about them.

Salesforce sets the exam format, passing score and price, and updates the topics over time. Read the current exam guide on Trailhead before you book.
How Arkton helps
